REMOTE STATION: uses to be explored
If we have been addressing the issue of the remote station in the latest issues, it is because we believe in its future. Although it seems trivial, it is truly a product with no equivalent in the market. The users regularly tell us how satisfied they are from this solution:
Standby duty: of course, it is not the purpose to replace the Minitel of all the standby duty agents with a laptop PC running
TOPKAPI, but generally providing the main standby duty agent with a laptop. It offers an operating environment well beyond that of the Minitel in terms of display speed and data access. This comfort is particularly appreciated when, because of the complexity or the size of the processes to be monitored, the agent cannot have a perfect knowledge of the whole process. |
Data concentrator: it downloads automatically the data archived in geographically dispersed sites, by transferring only the new data in a very compact format, and enables its integration into central databases. The applications implemented up to now involve the concentration in central dispatching of dispersed production sites, as well as the creation of environmental databases (water quality, hydrology data for safety). |
Remote maintenance: the possibility to remotely modify certain configuration details (in the presence of a local operator). |
Freedom of movement: equipped with a laptop PC and a GSM or DCS modem and a mobile phone, the agents can establish a remote connection without any wire constraint. |
