Any protocol using a standard serial port will be available for serial devices which are Windows compatible, such as multiport boards or serial to Ethernet products.

 

Real-time protocols

Protocols with real-time and time-stamped data

 

 

OPC SERVER

 

TOPKAPI can be used as an OPC server for each of the protocols listed hereafter, except those for which "OPC" in mentioned in the SUPPORT column.

For protocols with time-stamped data, TOPKAPI provides built-in modem management and historical data storage in any SQL compliant DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).

 

 

GATEWAY FUNCTION

 

TOPKAPI can be used as Gateway between several systems using distinct protocols.

Version:

32 means that the protocol is fully compatible

16 means that a thunk layer has been developed ; the protocol 16 bits works with Windows 95/98 and Windows NT. Port numbers available for 16 bits drivers are 1 to 10 (Windows 9x) and 1 to 9 (Windows NT)

 

Information below is applicable for the supply of the current TOPKAPI version. A version update may be required when adding a new protocol driver to an old TOPKAPI version, for technical or support reasons : please contact us.

 

Languages:

Engl for English, Sp for Spanish, FR for French.

In Spanish, if this language is not available, the English driver is installed, but it is also possible to install manually the French version of the driver.

(3) When changing the computer, make sure the specialized card is suitable for the new computer (PC bus ISA >>> PCI in particular) and the new operating system. For instance when using FIPWAY, only WOODHEAD-APPLICOM cards were available early 2006 for PCI bus. In doubt, contact AREAL.

(4) Woodhead-Applicom cards: www.applicom-int.com. When changing the computer, make sure the card is suitable for the new computer (bus and operating system).

(5) SMS protocol driver, version 3.6 and later. Requires a GSM subscription (voice only, data mode not required), no outgoing calls. The line and modem can be shared with the remote alarm notification module (Visiterm), or with other SMS protocol drivers. Check SMS MODEMS sheet for recommended equipment.
